------------------------------------------Update: Suspected Inmate
"Timothy Joseph McGhee"
Timothy Joseph McGhee: A northeast Los Angeles gang leader described by Police as a "monster" who boasted in rap lyrics about his hatred of police and his love of killing. McGhee, a member of the Toonerville gang, was sentenced to death in January 2009 for the murder of two rival gang members and the girlfriend of a third. A jury in 2007 convicted McGhee of murder in the gang-related shootings of three people between 1997 and 2001. Jurors also found McGhee guilty of the attempted murder of four other people, including two LAPD officers caught in a pre-dawn ambush in Atwater Village as they chased three other Toonerville gang members.
A jury late this afternoon recommended that former Atwater Village gang leader Timothy McGhee be sentenced to death for the murders of three people. McGhee, 35, had been convicted of the murders last November, but the original jury deadlocked on whether he should be put to death or receive life in prison without parole. The ex-Toonerville street gang chief is a charismatic, goateed figure who could pass for a motivational speaker. Last month, as he stood trial for leading a 2005 prison riot in the cell block he commanded, McGhee attended trial attired in a variety of well-pressed suits, his shaved head revealing a scalp tattoo of the eagle and snake found on the Mexican flag. Today, in a nearly empty courtroom, he wore a dark chalk-striped suit as he listened to the 12 jurors individually confirm their decisions to send him to death row. All court officers stood up as the 12-member panel left Department 104 – only McGhee remained seated. Judge Robert J. Perry will sentence McGhee later. (http://off2dr.com/smf/index.php?board=92.0)

So what's the status of the unit? Are we going to get more officers back in the AC or wait till a officer is killed?
ReplyDeleteOf course not!! They'll add another 1st watch rotunda position before OUR STAFF is SAFE in the A.C.!!!
ReplyDeleteMy father was one of them. He got 3 stitches to the head (right temple area) a small gash on his left arm. He's sore but he's fine and for the inmate's action was nothing personal against them spesificly, but it could have happened to any other officer at that time.
ReplyDelete@ the first anonymous....OF COURSE NOT! Admin will find a way to show those officers were negligent in their duties and continue to run program the way they do. If they cared about our safety we wouldn't have AW's coming into the units to meet with the Mac reps informing them of searches a half an hour before the searches. If they cared abiut our safety we wouldn't be running the entire morning chow program with a skeleton crew and no secondary responders. Oooooh, I could go on and on and on.......
ReplyDeleteWelcome to CDC 2012. Officers go to the hospital injured, inmate, WITHOUT injury goes back to his cell and will lose some yard time. Boy how this job, this prison and the Adjustment Center has changed!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut keep cutting the front line staff instead of all the suits that walk around doing nothing but show up to WATCH whenever something "exciting" happens. Ugh. WTF?
I agree...wholeheartly...Sac...doesnt care that we have way less staff...because they wanna "look good" n save a few bucks...until one of their family members gets hurt....or killed....and whats most sad is....the inmates Know this....
ReplyDeleteGlad our union was there walking the toughest beat in the state with us... u think we would see change if this happened in the board room... oh wait, some official union business needed to be attended too. Bet the bar's were full all weekend in Reno. Way to go Nevada, get our business when California needs the revenue most. I hear Monterey is nice this time of year.!
ReplyDeleteya San quentin administration is weak. Easy for them to judge and talk from across the street when there not up in the front lines!
ReplyDeletewait hold on theres more. inmates gets an ambulance ride to the hospitals for emergency medical treatment, but our c/o brothers that was seriously attacked that morning were rushed to the hospital on the back seat (where inmates gets transported) of one our finest vintage san quentin squad cars. Jeez, where is the respect to one of our own. who made that executive decision!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. we walk the line and if one of us gets hurt, we expect to get at least the best medical transport and treatment, we deserve it!!!
ReplyDeleteGood point,,,let mcgee go to yard and be a hero and then let some inmate collect his trophy...good luck with your new life!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHell is not fun , so let him smile at the devil when he dies one way or the other. Our officers are ok and we will remain strong. Be vigilant and strong and smart when dealing with every inmate and no bad will come to us!!!!!!!
